Biography: |
As a balance to her paintings, Linda Christine creates stoneware clay sculptures. She signs her work "Standing Hare", as it was given, to honor her Native American heritage. She finds that working with clay reinforces her connection to the Earth Mother.
After moving to Arizona, Linda began spending time with the Hopi not yet knowing about her ancestry. Her attraction to angels carried over into a bond with Kachinas, who are guardians of the Earth and messengers to the Hopi. After learning of her own Native American roots, she sees a parallel between Indian and mission culture and reflects that in her art.
Linda has won awards for both paintings and clay sculpture.
